James K. Burgess III, known as "Jim," is the President and CEO of American Biomedical Group, Inc. (ABGI). With a distinguished career spanning biochemistry, biomedical engineering, and electronics engineering, Jim has consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovation and excellence in healthcare and technology.
A graduate of West Virginia University with a B.S. in Biochemistry, and with additional expertise in Biomedical Engineering Technology and Electronics Engineering Technology from Forest Park College, Saint Louis, MO, Jim combines technical mastery with strategic vision. Before joining ABGI, he served as Director of Engineering and Biomedical Services for multiple healthcare systems, where his leadership earned him a Congressional Award for outstanding energy management and the prestigious Healthcare Forum/3M Innovator Award.
Under Jim’s guidance, ABGI has achieved significant milestones, including pioneering advancements in radio-frequency location and tracking systems, which have benefited both military and commercial sectors. His work has also supported centers dedicated to biological and chemical defense, further solidifying ABGI’s position as a leader in innovative solutions.
Jim’s career includes managing large-scale healthcare construction projects, such as ICU towers, transplantation rooms, and comprehensive medical centers, where his efforts have driven operational efficiency and energy savings. As an entrepreneur, he has expanded into security and tracking technologies, showcasing his unique ability to integrate technical expertise with forward-thinking business leadership.
